In 1917, in the heart of the small community of Tregnago, the events of the Great War intersect with the visceral ties between an alpino who left voluntarily for the Front and his family. The patriotic spirit that animates the young Federico Gaetano Battisti is conveyed through his original letters that reveal and motivate in the characters the most various emotions and anguish, linked to the difficult historical and cultural context. A palette of plots in which the young man's love for his home and for his dear mother merges into the life of a country where war is nothing but an act of faith, lived in the hope of being able to once again embrace one's children, distant husbands and brothers. The two directors, in their first film, weave a collective portrait in a work whose greatest merits lie in its historical research and in the involvement of the local community.

  Simone Cunego

  A graphic designer and photographer, with a diploma in graphic arts, Simone Cunego has worked as a graphic designer, web designer, photographer and art director. Since 2013 he has run Studio Baoblà where he works on company images and communications.

  Emanuele Zanfretta

  Musician and composer Emanuele Zanfretta earned a diploma in oboe in 2000 from the conservatory in Verona, "F. Dall'Abaco", where in  2017 he completed a specialisation in music therapy. He composed and directed numerous musical projects inspired by popular and Cimbrian traditions of the Lessinia. With Il tempo di una stagione both Zanfretta and Cunego are making their directing debuts.
