Returning from Europe to her small village in the Georgian mountains, Nata finds herself confronted with customs that seem to have already sealed her fate as a wife and mother. But she dreams of a different life, and the opposition of the village women, who pressure her to accept tradition and maintain a facade of normality, is of little avail. After suffering yet another episode of violence at the hands of her husband, Nata decides not to succumb and to fight for her dignity.
