Ten stories, ten ways of living in the mountains thanks to architectural projects that revitalize places and buildings. An investigation that spans the entire Alpine range, from the heart of the valleys to the 3,466 meters of Mont Blanc. The ten projects are examples of respect for the past and investment in the future of mountain life. They range from the redevelopment of abandoned quarries to the construction of new schools, from the upgrading of technological facilities to the restoration of villages affected by depopulation. The protagonists of the stories are members of communities that live in mountain villages and have a direct relationship with the buildings undergoing redevelopment projects: the teacher with his students, the cable car operator, the mountain pasture manager, the skier, and the mountain guide. Restoration represents a challenge of architectural recovery in harmony with the mountain, to breathe new life into buildings and places that have lost their original function and for which a possible rebirth is being attempted.
