Cambodia 1975. The arrival of the Khmer Rouge forces a young Cambodian girl to flee alone to escape the genocide and find refuge in France. It is the director's mother, who, years later, recounts to her daughter her childhood in Cambodia and her hasty escape, transforming herself into an almost mythical figure, suspended between imagination and reality.
