The documentary recounts the University of Sassari's research project on the behavior of the Alpine chamois population in the Grappa Massif, in the Veneto Alps. The research team is the same one that carried out a previous project on the wolf, described in the documentary Lupo uno; predation by the carnivore, along with climate change, is one of the main focuses of their investigation. Their methodology combines technology, including the use of satellite radio collars, science, and direct observation to understand how one of the iconic species of Alpine environments modifies its movements, use of space, and survival strategies. Moving among the animals' ideal habitats: sheer ridges, steep forests, and vertical rock faces, the researchers seek to study and understand the situation, aiming to find a balance between human and animal presence.
