A somewhat careless shepherdess gets distracted by her mobile phone and forgets about her goats in the stable. So, a mother goat with her kids decides to look for a more hospitable place for her family and seeks refuge in the forest. She's repelled by the apple tree, the fir tree, and the majestic oak, but eventually finds refuge in the shade of the birch tree.

Maria Steinmetz studied animation at the Konrad Wolf University of Film and Television (HFF) in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Her graduation film Der Wechselbalg (The Changeling) was very successful at film festivals and was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Since 2014 she has been working as a freelance animation filmmaker and director in Berlin.
