IL FRUTTIVENDOLO - FFDL

O MANAVIS

THE GROCER

Dimitris Koutsiabasakos / Greece / 2013 / 82 min / Colour

Since the 1980s, Nikis Anastassiou and his wife Sofia have taken the same road with their travelling fruit and vegetable cart. Once a week the couple leaves the city of Trikala to go toward the mountains of Pindo. Along this seventy-five-kilometre route, the pair, often helped by their children, Lostas and Thymios, meets their long-time customers, now mostly elderly. And so, from travelling grocers they become friends and confi dants, lend their telephones where the lines are down, and bring other products from the city, along with messages. Accompanying them on their journey, we experience life in the Greek mountains.
