AREFI, THE SHEPHERD
Germania / 2013 / 9 min / Colour
Italian premiere
For Mohammad Arefi , herding is everything. It not only allows him to live, but also to proudly pass on his family’s traditions. He has always remained with his fl ocks and accompanies them in the continual search for grass in the meagre pastures of the Dasht-e Kavir desert in central Iran. Arefi has the shepherd’s serenity and love of life. This brief portrait allows us to share his fatigue and sweat, but also the emotions and peace of the desert’s starry nights.
