BREATH
Brasile / 2013 / 73 min / Colour
A film about human existence and the mystery of life and death, observed through the daily routines of a small village in the middle of nowhere, in the mountainous hinterland of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Here, families have always lived in nearly total isolation from the rest of the world. Wind, fog, and silence mark the coexistence of man and nature, a relationship of harmony and conflict immersed in the vastness of a landscape greaterthan what the human gaze can grasp, or words can express.
