LUCI DANZANTI - FFDL

DANCING LIGHTS

Australia / 2014 / 4 min / Colour

Italian premiere

With the music of Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt, Dancing Lights is a visual exploration of the archipelago of the Lofoten Islands in Norway, made using time-lapse technology. The music accompanies the images of the changing colors of the imposing mountains that rise from the sea, of the frozen lakes, and the fishermen’s villages. The Gulf Stream keeps the temperatures mild, even if this area is above the Arctic Circle. During the long winters, the sun appears on the horizon for barely a few hours, but it is at night that the true spectacle begins, with the aurora borealis appearing like a dance of light.
