The tragedy that occurred on the Marmolada on July 3, 2022 is seen and told through the eyes and voices of the rescuers and those who took action, even at the risk of their own lives, to try to save as many others as possible. Interviews with authorities, rescuers, mountain guides, eyewitnesses, and survivors and unpublished audiovisual material accompany us hour by hour through the unfolding of events and the activation of the great "rescue machine," highlighting the strong human impact on those who were there, perhaps with the awareness of looking for a friend or colleague among the missing. The narrative shows how climate change is rapidly transforming the landscape and exposes the impotence of Man in front of the strength of the mountain, intertwined with the generosity and professionalism of those who every day do their utmost to help those up there who are in difficulty.

  Giorgia Lorenzato

  Born in Bassano del Grappa in 1991, she is a director, editor and screenwriter. Passionate about the mountains, she has been collaborating with director Manuel Zarpellon for years, participating in the making of films such as Rideremo tra vent’anni (2010), Fucilateli (2019) and Cieli rossi, Bassano in guerra (2015).

  Manuel Zarpellon

  A director, producer and screenwriter, he is originally from Bassano del Grappa. He made his debut with Mai per caso (2008), winning the Festival del cinema dei Veneti nel mondo in Sydney and participating in the Turin Film Festival. Among his works are Gino Soldà - Una vita straordinari (2022) and Marmolada 03.07.22 (2023).
