Since the 1990s, the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) has collaborated with associations and medical structures that treat mental disorders, addictions, disabilities and specific diseases. This film documents the activities of groups of girls and boys who participate in three projects active throughout Italy, frequenting the mountains for rehabilitative-therapeutic purposes and to re-educate themselves about the environment and manage their respective conditions with physical activity and correct nutrition. Together, they learn to overcome personal limitations, creating a bond of mutual support and normalizing open dialogue. Alessandro Beltrame interviews the volunteers, operators and participants of the "Di Passo in Passo" projects, organized by Asst degli Ospedali Civili Brescia with the CAI Sem Milan; "Diabtrekking," organized by the Jada Association, Cuneo Hospital and Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin with the CAI Cuneo; "Contaminiamoci," overseen by the Associazione Italiana Persone Down with the Potenza CAI.
Alessandro Beltrame
Ligurian mountaineer and director, with a background in science and computer science. He founded the video production company AGB and is part of the Associazione Esplorazione Geografiche La Venta, with which he made documentaries for National Geographic. As a producer and author he has made programs for Sky, Mediaset and Rai. He filmed, among others, Ascension to Ararat (2022) and Cervino, la Cresta del Leone (2021).
