NOMAD: IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF BRUCE CHATWIN

Werner Herzog / United Kingdom / 2019 / 89 min / Colour

The friendship between Werner Herzog and Bruce Chatwin began in the early 1980s and lasted until the death of the English writer. Both recognized in the other a propensity for a wandering life, adventure, and magical thinking, and an irrepressible attraction to places and people in the four corners of the globe. After thirty years, Herzog decided to tell the story of his friend by also telling about himself, sharing places, books, archival images and memories. This is a documentary-tribute that, speaking about a writer, explores friendship, narration, travel and the man, in all his complexities.
