During the Second World War, a little girl named Martina lives in a village in the Apennines. Her community is shocked by the Nazi occupation and the Marzabotto massacre. Through Martina's eyes, the film recounts peasant life and the tragic impact of war on civilians, offering a moving representation of historical events and human resilience.
Giorgio Diritti
An Italian director and screenwriter, he studied at the Institute for the Training of Young Authors, directed by Olmi. He made his debut with Il vento fa il suo giro (2005). In addition to documentaries and short films, he shot L'uomo che verrà (2009), winner of the Jury Prize at the Rome Film Festival. He directed Un giorno devi andare (2013) and Volevo nascondermi (2020), awarded at the Berlin Film Festival with the Silver Bear for Best Actor. With the same film he won the award for Best Director and Best Film at the David di Donatello 2021. Lubo (2023) is his latest work.
