A young bat wakes up by mistake before the end of hibernation. He comes out of his cave where everything is dark and upside down and discovers, with surprise, the wonders of the world in light and heat. While having fun exploring, he meets and befriends his cousin the mouse and discovers that he lives during the day and that in his burrow, things are not upside down--how strange!
