A group of young Tibetan monks awaits the arrival of a wise elder who can reveal the secrets of life to them. A lively little monk, however, is distracted by a sparrow fluttering in the temple. Following him, he will embark on a lifelong journey during which he will learn the very essence of existence, only to be able to recount it, one day, to some child monks.
