A volcanic edition
A volcanic edition. And it is not just a figure of speech, since the volcanoes will be the protagonists of the XXI Film Festival della Lessinia that will start on Saturday, August 22nd 2015 at Bosco Chiesanuova. The Festival dedicated to life, history and mountain traditions, in its annual tribute theme, dedicates to the volcanoes a rich retrospective starting with the inaugural film that will be shown on August 22nd, the gorgeous Ixcanul – Vulcano from Guatemala, winner of the Silver Bear at the 2015 Berlin Film Festival. It will be the first of 60 films scheduled this year, coming from 26 countries of all continents, for ten days of projections where 15.000 people, between spectators and visitors, will witness the worldwide premier of many of the films. The cultural program presents itself as very rich, with concerts, editorial encounters, one-on-one dialogues with the directors, workshops, and outdoor excursions. The Film Festival della Lessinia, after having reached the twentieth-year edition, confirms its international vocation that makes it a worldwide reference point for movies dedicated to the mountain life. Contending the “Lessinia d’Oro” and the “Lessinia d’Argento”, the two most important prizes of the Festival, are 24 films between documentaries, feature films and short films.
