Brasile / 2010 / 52 min / Colour
A portrait of a father, his son, and their traditional, nomadic life in one of the most isolated places on the planet, the Changthang region of the Himalayas, in the heart of Ladakh, in India. Up there, climate changes are making the earth arid and drying up the rivers. The valleys, once rich with water, are becoming deserts. Sonam, the old father, sees his world chang- ing and worries about his son, wondering whether he will be able to continue the life and work that he has carried on ac- cording to ancient customs. Along with the climate, the way of life of this nomadic tribe is also changing. The son plans to leave the mountains and go to live elsewhere with his fam- ily. His father despairs and finds himself faced with questions and changes that upset the last years of his life, forcing him to make a tremendous choice that will take him away from his mountains forever.
