According to the dictates of Buddhism, reaching a higher degree of awareness and understanding of the world takes a minimum of three years, three months, and three days of meditation. This will be the time that the young Lhamo, arrested during a bus trip in the mountains of Bhutan, will spend in seclusion and under the stern gaze of others, seeking peace and forgiveness.
Dechen Roder
Born in 1980 in Bumthang, in Buthan, she has worked in film since 2004, directing the films Original Photocopy of Happiness (2011) and Heart in the Mandala (2014). With her films, she has participated in many international festivals. Lo Sum Choe Sum was screened at the Berlinale 2015 and the Fribourg International Film Festival, among others.
