DOKHTAR… MADAR… DOKHTAR…
DAUGHTER… MOTHER… DAUGHTER…
Iran / 2014 / 70 min / Colour
Italian premiere
The sun shines above the pines that dance in the wind in the vast landscape of the bleak Iranian highlands. A woman wrapped in a black garment recalls when she met the man who would become her husband. It was he who planted those trees, so young and green, and now marked by time. They were married beneath their branches. Now, her elderly mother spends her days spinning wool, her daughter is infirm and bedridden, and she is growing old along with those pines. One of them is dying.
