IL PARCO DEL SILE
THE PARK OF SILE RIVER
Italia / 1999 / 36 min / Colour
The Sile, the longest resurgent river in Italy: before this film, no one had ever scrutinized its inner soul, that of the springs and the life that flows through the reedy marshes, the birds in flight, suspended in the sky above the water. It is this profound soul that is revealed in this film, commissioned and produced by the Ente del Parco Naturale Regionale del Sile. Over the course of the four seasons, the images explore the hidden and changing faces of the Sile that the human eye, over the course of hours, days, and months, could never have grasped and enjoyed. This is a visual and aural fresco of the extraordinary ecosystem and of the prestigious heritage of culture, art, and history that crowns its banks.
