DE DRAI JORZAITN
THE THREE SEASONS
Italia / 2012 / 54 min / Colour
The 1930s in the Mòcheni Valley (Bersntol). A woman and her child are left alone after the departure of her husband, a krumer (itinerant salesman) whose work forces him to leave the valley from late autumn until spring. The lives of the two protagonists entwine with that of a doctor and his young wife, expressions of diff erent cultures and languages, at times in conflict with the traditions and beliefs of the villagers. Enriched with legendary figures drawn from the ethnographic studies of Giuseppe Šehesta êbesta on the Upper Valley of the Ferla, and from some citations from the narrative, Grigia, by Robert Musil, the film is acted in the Mòcheno language by many residents of the valley.
