OIL FIELD
Russia / 2012 / 26 min / Colour
In a remote corner of Siberia, a couple of farmers live according to the traditional lifestyle of the few remaining natives. Their daily gestures reflect centuries-old habits and the difficulties of working in one of the coldest regions of the Asian continent. But life on this land has been upended by enormous systems for extracting gas. And so, for some inhabitants this is the land where they were born and remain, carrying on the way of life of their ancestors, while for others it is only another place to exploit.
