SHAVI TUTA
BLACK MULBERRY
Gabriel Razmadze / France, Georgia / 2012 / 21 min / Colour
Two adolescents meet in the mining town of Chiatura, Georgia. They spend just one day together, but this is enough to leave a deep mark on their respective lives. For young Nika, the arrival of Ani, a girl from Tbilisi, is an event that breaks the daily routine with his father, a miner. Against the background of a city that seems abandoned, amongst the ruins of a powerful empire, and with a future of hard labour looming for the youth, unfolds this delicate story of affection that entwines with a destiny that seems sure to divide the two young people.
