E BERTA FILAVA
E BERTA FILAVA
Mattia Petullà / Italy / 2012 / 15 min / Colour
In popular tradition, beginning a fable with the line: “Era il tempo in cui Berta filava…” is like saying “Once upon a time…”. It is a way of indicating that time passes, whether real or imaginary. This is time made of dream-like waiting, of courage and desire, as in all fables. It is a kind of time that adults often forget. But it is not forgotten by a woman who sets out on a voyage toward a foreign country, to arrive in the mountains of Calabria and chase after this lost time. Her arrival interrupts the daily routine and the quiet way of life.
