Kamtschatka - Ein höllisches Paradies

Kamtschatka - A infernal paradise

Martin Thoma / Germany / 2008 / 14 min / Colour

Italian premiere

Clouds of smoke and vapor rise from the volcanic craters and geysers of the Kamchatka peninsula, the extreme Asian strip in the Bering sea. More than 160 volcanoes, in an area of nearly 370,000 square kilometers, have inspired geologists to refer to this region as “the firey ring of the Pacific,” while the native people call it “the door to Hell”.
