IL PIÙ VASTO ALTIPIANO
Italy / 1914 / 4 min / Black and white
Production Milano Films. Restored by EYE Film Institute Netherlands at Haghefilm laboratori from a tinted positive print preserved at EYE and belonging to Desmet collection
Rare images of life in the Carnia Alps, before the upheavals of the twentieth century: the valleys and grazing cattle, but also the arrival of technology, with shots of bridges and the passage of a train. On the sidelines, the men work as their ancestors had done for centuries. An old man collects timber, a young craftsman builds a wooden bucket.
