Boszorkaánykör - Witch circle

A fascinating story of liberty “at all costs” in which ancient customs and traditions entwine with crimes and mysteries; where the women are, for better or for worse, the true protagonists; where the popular beliefs and superstitions of the mountain people invade and disrupt the lives of the protagonists. The film is inspired by a true story: a young police officer who is investigating the murder of a child finds himself suddenly immersed in the closed world of the Csángó, a Catholic ethnic minority whose language is Hungarian, in the mountains in the Romanian part of Moldavia. This strip of mountains, within the territory of the Romanian republic, is a world with its own rules, behavior, and sins, that are different from those of people in the “modern world.”
