Urs
Mortiz Mayerhofer / Germany / 2009 / 10 min / Colour
A dark, crumbling village, by now deserted, that never sees the sun. For many years, Urs has taken care of his elderly mother. Now he decides the time has come to find a better place for both of them. And so he decides to leave on a long and dangerous voyage that will take him toward the peak of the mountain, beyond which he can glimpse the shining sun. But his mother does not want to leave her house... and Urs finds himself facing questions common to many, perhaps all of us: for how long can we remain in an intolerable situation? Is it right to try to change things? And the others... can one truly decide what is best for someone else?
