IDYLL
Fanny Rösch / Austria, Germany / 2022 / 10 min / Colour
European premiere
In front of a typical wooden chalet, in the Austrian mountains of Tyrol, the family is gathered for an idyllic breakfast outdoors. They sip coffee, spread butter and jam and taste berries while listening to, no less, the AustraN composer par excellence: Mozart. But behind the smiles, between the caring mother, the indolent father and the two daughters masked by glasses and attached to their inseparable cell phones, distance, misunderstandings, envy and, of course, love are hidden. Everything contributes to bringing out small conflicts: the forgotten salt, flies on the jam, the sweat from the scorching sun, until an intrusive and noisy lawnmower breaks the idyll. Director Fanny Rösch shoots a short film that ridicules, with skilful irony, a certain oleographic vision of the mountains and our little rituals of daily hypocrisy.
