Franco Dalmasso could be labeled as a hermit or a deluded anarchist-communist who, after the political militancy of the seventies and eighties, chose to mithdraw and live in seclusion. But it would be simplistic to label as a "character" a man whose life choice does not seem dictated by fashion, nor by the desire to hide or, with such an extreme life, to show off, but by a profound need to "fall asleep when darkness falls and wake up with the light of dawn, looking at the sky", as he recounts in this long dialogue with Remo Schellino. Of his house in the mountains of Boves, in the Cuneo area, Franco uses only the outside: the courtyard, the porch and the balcony where he sleeps all year round. He cultivates the vegetable garden and looks for wild herbs to heal himself, and reads and gets information with a battery-powered radio tuned to Radio Popolare in Milan. Up there they call him "Politica". In the film he does nothing but walk, talk about and reflect on the great themes of life, digging into words, expressing his vision of the world in search of being and not having.

  Remo Schellino

  Born in Cuneo in 1965, he is a film director and producer. In 1991 he founded the production company Polistudio and began the production of documentaries. He has collaborated with various television broadcasters, including the regional and national RAI. In 2006 he participated in the XII Film Festival of Lessinia with the film La Luce Dentro - Storia di Armando, winning the Cerro d'Argento award.
