Les bergers du futur
THE SHEPHERDS OF THE FUTURE
Lionel Roux / France / 2018 / 52 min / Colour
Italian premiere
Being shepherds in the 21st century means having chosen to belong to a world in constant motion. And, even more, having chosen to contribute to it. Lionel Roux, starting from his own personal experience, invites us to look at the lesser known aspects of pastoralism. Reversing our prejudices - and perhaps also those of the sons and grandsons of shepherds - he shows us young men and women who have chosen a profoundly relevant profession that poses great human and economic challenges. The director follows these young people throughout their demanding one-year apprenticeship, revealing their stubbornness, resourcefulness and clarity. During this challenging apprenticeship, many faces, bodies and minds transform, taking on the colours of life in the mountain pastures.
