Italian premiere

In Sarre it's time for Badoche: the feast of Saint-Maurice, patron saint of the town, is celebrated for days in the valley. A group of young people walk the streets of the city inviting people to dance and join them in the celebrations. The sound of the accordion and saxophone creates the melody, accompanying the steps of a dance that never seems to stop. Between a song and a drink, you can listen to the stories of those who were part of the same celebration many years before: memory enters the story and overlaps with the present. Alessio Zemoz alternates black and white and color and uses cross-fading to compose a stratigraphy of generational portraits, inserted in the visual flow and pulled along by the light-heartedness of those who let themselves go, to the rhythm of popular music. The brigade carries with them a halberd full of coloured ribbons and an apple, a symbol of abundance, passing from house to house before gathering in the square, together with the whole town, and calling the last dance on stage.
