Cum înalți un zmeu?
How to fly a kite?

The
high plains of Catina, in Transylvania, are dotted with conifer patches. Nicu
and his son Aurel leave for the woods, with the permission of a forest ranger,
to search for wood: only a few branches among the fallen ones, without cutting
a trunk. Their only wealth is the old cart, pulled by a mare, but the father
rarely allows Aurel to take the reins. Yet the boy wants nothing more than his
approval. After a day of hard work and a night spent in the forest, they will
meet the agent, Campan, who is determined to condemn them as thieves for the
few branches collected. Lorand Gabor follows the actors with a hand-held
camera, photographing Aurel's gazes and silent explorations, in the few moments
of rest from a simple and ancient task. The officer's intolerance and violence
- also exercised through the insistent filming with his phone - will force
Aurel to flee, across the river, this time master of the wagon.
