In a small village in Montenegro, a man is tormented by the past. A story from his father, heard while only a boy, does not allow him peace. At the end of the Second World War, an Italian officer was captured by the partisans, summarily executed, and buried near the man's house. But there is no trace of the tomb, no proof that the story is true. Nevertheless, the man is frightened by the idea of finding the bones of the soldier while digging the ground. He then turns to the other villagers, hoping to reconstruct the truth: two men, older than he, seem to remember something, but their stories do not coincide on everything and their words are difficult to understand. Ivan Salatić delves into the history of a troubled territory, separating image from word, restoring the double fracture of violent events and the difficult exercise of memory, their double arbitrariness.
