According to the ancient philosophers, the springs, the woods, and the mountains commanded all of the tutelary spirits. The genius loci was a metaphysical entity, sensitive and alive, the quintessence of a territory or of a person. This film explores and listens carefully in an attempt to discover the spirit of the place that is the Alto Adige, or South Tyrol, a land belonging to various peoples and with hidden borders. For Italians, it is the extreme north of the peninsula, while for Austrians it is the lower Tyrol.
