RITORNO SUI MONTI NAVIGANTI
RETURN TO THE MONTI NAVIGANTI
Alessandro Scillitani / Italy / 2017 / 70 min / Colour
In 2006, in a Fiat 500, or "Topolino", Paolo Rumiz drove through the Apennines, and recounted that voyage in his book, La leggenda dei monti naviganti. Ten years later he returned to those mountains, which were undergoing great changes, hanging in the balance between earthquakes and hydrogeological drought, to observe their life and rebirth. It is a voyage of encounters that speak of resistance and positive energy. It is a voyage in search of the small, great lives of those who, with simplicity, contact with nature and the land, and the ideas and will to imagine and build a different, better world, represent the hope and future of the country's backbone. It is a voyage to the "minor" places of Italy, accomplished with a slow pace and sustainable speed.
