ÞRESTIR
SPARROWS
Rúnar Rúnarsson / Croatia (Hrvatska), Denmark, Iceland / 2015 / 99 min / Colour
When his mother decides to depart for a mission in Uganda with her new companion, Ari is forced to move from Reykjavik to the desolate, remote town of his birth, and the home of his father. Nothing is as he remembered it: his childhood friends don't recognise him and his father spends his days drinking and carousing with friends. Everything, starting from the summer Icelandic sun that never goes below the horizon line, gives the idea of a suspended, oppressive situation. Ari rebels and experiments with extreme behaviour, ready to face with courage the changes and consequences, even tragic, that this entails.
